Overview
Join us for this free, evidence-informed webinar designed for pelvic health professionals, orthopaedic clinicians, kinesiologists, exercise physiologists, occupational therapists, and physicians.
Led by Carolyn Vandyken, this webinar explores how to apply the knowledge gained through modern pain neuroscience to pelvic health rehabilitation. It is not just about "explaining pain" to your patients; rather, we need to deeply understand that our patients, armed with the right knowledge and lifestyle skills, can use modern pain neuroscience to regulate their own nervous system.
When our patient's nervous system is dysregulated, OAB and persistent pain are common protective responses. Learn how to shift from the role of “fixer” to “facilitator” – helping patients take ownership of their healing journey and engage with exercise as a powerful, self-regulation tool. As clinicians, we often think about stretching and strengthening muscles. Clinicians often use manual therapy to change muscle tension or joint dysfunction to help their patients achieve their goals. However, our patients with persistent pain, and OAB, can learn to recalibrate their own systems through basic exercise (walking, breathing and mobility exercises) and sensory-motor rich movements to "heal" themselves.
Learn what it means to put sour patients in the "driver" seat, allowing their systems to change through healthy lifestyle shifts that are easy to complete, creating long term self-managed solutions.
