Overview

Physiotherapists are often referred to see patients in palliative care. However, it is challenging for a physiotherapist to know what their role is and what they can feasibly do.

This online course will offer actionable advice for physiotherapists and factors to consider for implementing physiotherapy in patients who are in the early phase of palliative care.

Learning Objectives

In this online course, we will:

  1. Demystify what an early palliative care approach is (and isn’t).
  2. Describe 7 myths in the system that lead to palliative care being offered at end of life rather than early in the illness.
  3. Describe 7 actionable keys that physiotherapists can enact to offer an early palliative care approach in their practices.
  4. Describe the benefits for physiotherapists of implementing an early palliative care approach.
